Privacy Policy

Who I am

SeriSync is developed and operated by me, Óli Jákup Finnsson, as an independent developer. If you have any questions about this policy, contact me at serisync@gmail.com.

What data I collect

SeriSync collects minimal data to provide its service:

• Show tracking data — the shows and movies you track, your watch progress, and your season/episode position. This is stored locally on your device.
• Country setting — your selected country, used to show relevant streaming providers. Stored locally on your device.
• Provider preferences — which streaming services you want to see. Stored locally on your device.
• IP address — used once on first launch to detect your country automatically. I do not store or log your IP address.

What data I do NOT collect

• I do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
• I do not track your behaviour within the app
• I do not use advertising identifiers
• I do not sell any data to third parties
• I do not share your data with any third parties except as described below

Third party services

SeriSync uses the following third party APIs to provide its core functionality. When you search for or view a show, your query is sent to these services:

• The Movie Database (TMDB) — provides show, movie, cast, and rating data. See their privacy policy at themoviedb.org/privacy-policy.
• Movie of the Night (via RapidAPI) — provides season-accurate streaming availability data. See their terms at movieofthenight.com/about/api.
• ipapi.co — used once on first launch to detect your country from your IP address. No data is stored by me from this request. See their privacy policy at ipapi.co/privacy.
• Firebase (Google) — used for web app hosting. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Data storage

All your personal data — tracked shows, preferences, and country — is stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device and is not accessible to me.

If you uninstall the app or clear app data, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.

Children's privacy

SeriSync is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe I have inadvertently collected such information, please contact me.

Your rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete all data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage in your device settings.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Contact me at serisync@gmail.com with any requests.

Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. I will notify you of significant changes through the app or on this page. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last updated.
